Tys Reinhard

Tys J. Reinhard, 16, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 7:20 p.m. He was surrounded by the love of his family and those who cared deeply for him. 

Tys was born on July 26, 2008, in Springfield, Illinois, the cherished son of Daniel and Frances M. (Shank) Reinhard. Despite facing significant challenges in his young life, Tys' spirit and determination left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His infectious smile, gentle heart, and courage in the face of adversity will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his loving parents, Daniel and Frances Reinhard of Quincy; his brother, Ryne Reinhard (Jess) and their daughter, Petra; his two sisters, Randi Reinhard, and Kelsey Elson (Jon) and their children, Cameron and Lilee. He is also survived by his uncle, Dave Reinhard (Shari), and their children, as well as his maternal grandparents, Jim and Janet Shank. Tys was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Katie Reinhard.

Tys was a beloved son, brother, and nephew, and his family takes comfort in the cherished memories they made together. Though his life was shorter than most, his impact on his family and community was immeasurable. He taught those who knew him about resilience, love, and the beauty of finding joy in every moment, no matter the circumstances.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, at Quincy Faith Church, (4000 State Street) with Pastor Danny Schluckebier officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tys J. Reinhard Memorial Fund.
