Thyrl James "Jay" Wright II

 Thryl James "Jay" Wright, 44, of Clayton, IL, passed away at 3:41 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

 Jay was born on May 8, 1980, in Quincy, IL, the son of Thyrl James Wright and Debra Ella Ogburn. He was a proud graduate of Central High School and went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his discharge, Jay worked as a truck driver.

 Surviving are his daughter, Kaylee Wright; his stepfather, Elmer McClain; his brothers and sisters, Shane Wright (Jessica), Casey Wright, Matt, Stacy, Jerica Strehlo (Dustin), Skylar Wright; his father, TJ Wright (Charlene); his companion, Melissa Demoss; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

 Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Ella Ogburn; his brother, Kyle McClain; and his grandparents, Jack and Lois Ogburn, and Mary Grouball.

 Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL.

 Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton.
