Sandra K Conover

Sandra K. Conover, 83, of Coatsburg, IL, died Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Sandra was born May 29, 1941, in Quincy, a daughter of Eldon and Vivian Husemann Viar. She married Ronald L. Conover on February 11, 1961, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Coatsburg. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2018.

Sandra was a secretary at the Coatsburg Grade School. She later worked at Methode Electronics in Golden, IL, for several years. Sandra taught Sunday School and Bible School, did quilting for missions with her church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she was a member for over 60 years. Sandra was also a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout Troop. The Paloma Fiesta was also a pride and joy event that Sandra enjoyed helping organize for many years.

Sandra is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey (Susan) Conover of Palmetto, FL, and Steven (Jennifer) Conover of Coatsburg; three granddaughters, Christina Conover, Torie (Devin) Cassens, and Lindsey Hoener; two great-grandsons, Beau and Grizz Cassens; her brother, Gary (Cindy) Viar, Camp Point, IL; and her sister, Janet (Jack) Arnold, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father- and mother-in-law, Paul and Viola Daggett Conover; her niece, Michelle Viar; and great-grandson, Knox Leroy Cassens.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Coatsburg, with the Rev. Patricia Reep conducting. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Graymount Cemetery, Coatsburg.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Graymount Cemetery and St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
