Russell Lee "Rusty" Cole

Russell Lee “Rusty” Cole, 65, of Augusta, IL died at 1:10 am Sunday September 10, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at the home of his daughter Ronna in Plymouth, IL.

He was born on September 25, 1957 in Quincy, IL to William “Bill” and Hazel Marie Ryan Cole.

Rusty was a graduate of Quincy High School. He was employed with Town and Country Mobile Homes in Quincy, IL for several years and later worked as a self employed contractor.

Rusty loved listening to music, he was an avid pool player and played in many leagues in the area, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his drums, hanging out and helping his friends, watching NASCAR racing (Rusty Wallace) and collecting Hot Rods and Hot Wheels.

He is survived by his children; Robert “Robbie” Cole of Menard, IL, Ronna (James Johnson) Cole of Plymouth, IL, Gretchen Renee (Charles Walker) Cole of Bowen, IL, Christopher “Chris” (Lyndsay) Cole of Colchester, IL, 8 grandchildren, Desiree Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Johnathon Walker, Garrett Walker, Gunnar Walker, Ashlynn Kelley, Anthony Cole and Aiven Cole, 1 great-grandson, Hayden Johnson, his siblings; William “Bill” Cole III of Canton, MO, Michael “Mike” (Janet) Cole of Camp Point, IL, Robert “Bob” Cole of Camp Point, IL, Sharon (Craig) Eliason of Quincy, IL, Mark (Peggy) Cole of Elvaston, IL, numerous nieces and nephews and his longtime companion, Carla Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marsha Cole, a nephew, Andy Eliason and a sister-in-law, Vicki Cole.

Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 Friday September 15, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorials may be made to his daughter Ronna Cole to help with expenses.
