Ronald “Ron” R. Brumley, 82, of La Prairie, Illinois passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. Ron was born on March 4, 1943 to John “Wesley” and Georgia Josephine “Jo” (Boos) Brumley in Carbondale, IL.
In 1986, he married Carole (Eberhardt-Thompson) in St. Louis, MO. She survives.
He spent his career in the education field, first as a teacher and coach, before serving as a school principal and then finishing his career as a superintendent. However, what he would like to be remembered for the most is a teacher of Bible truths. Ron dedicated his life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in October of 1969. Most recently, being a member of the Macomb congregation.
Ron is survived by his children: Stephennie Brumley of La Prairie, IL, Chris (wife Nancy) Brumley of Centennial, CO, along with those he raised as his own, Steven Thompson of Macomb, IL, Chris (wife Karrell) Thompson of Charlotte, NC, Tabitha Thompson of St. Charles, MO, and Mark (wife Sonja) Thompson of Canton, IL; four siblings, Mike Brumley of Dahlonega, GA, Steve (wife Carole) Brumley of Carterville, IL, Cindy (Brumley) Johnson of Carbondale, IL, and Tim (wife Pam) Brumley of De Soto, IL. In addition, he is survived by 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Daniel Brumley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 333 W. Barsi Blvd., Macomb, Illinois on March 29, 2025.
The family would like to thank Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois for the wonderful care he received in his final days.
