Rod D Flesner

June 13, 1955 — February 4, 2024

     Roderick D. Flesner, 68, of rural Camp Point, IL., passed away suddenly Sunday, February 4, 2024, at his home.

     Born June 13, 1955, in Quincy, IL., he was the son of Virgil and Marilyn Schuster Flesner. He married Pamela K. Limkemann on November 27, 1981, in Golden, IL. She survives.

     Rod was a lifelong farmer in the Camp Point area. He built his farming legacy from the ground up through hard work and resilience. When he wasn't working on the farm, he could be found riding his horse, riding his motorcycle, playing in pool league, and playing cards. He was also a sport enthusiast, whether it was playing, coaching, spectating, or refereeing from the stands.  Rod also served as a trustee for Camp Point Township for many years.

     Survivors in addition to his wife are his children, Michael (Suvannah) Flesner and their children; Miles, Payton, and Mason, Camp Point, and Jamie (Tyler) Burke and their children; Henry and Ella, Warsaw, MO.; his mother, Marilyn Flesner, Golden, IL.; his siblings, Marcia (Diane) Flesner, Columbia, MO., Audrey Eyler (Bob Kerr), Augusta, IL., Christine (Jack) Hamilton, Augusta, IL., Sandy (Denny) Nichols, Ursa, IL., Jeff (Cindy) Flesner, Ursa, IL., and Greg (Alana) Flesner, Bowen, IL.; his father in law, Don Limkemann, West Point, IL.; his brother in law, Donnie (Debbie) Limkemann, West Point, IL.; his sister in law, Teresa (Steve) Metzger, Ursa, IL.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil, and a sister, Roberta Belden.

     Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bowen Christian Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Golden.

     Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Bowen Christian Church.

     Memorial contributions may be made to Central Athletics or Central FFA.

     The Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point is handling the arrangements.
