Richard G. Clark, 92, of rural Colchester, IL died at 7:06 pm Monday, July 15, 2024 at his home.
Richard was born on February 27, 1932 near Plymouth, IL to Newell and Bernice Lester Clark. He was united in marriage September 25, 1954, at the Colchester First Christian Church in Colchester to Helen Carter. She preceded him in death on December 12, 2022.
Richard was a retired farmer. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Colmar Christian Church, he enjoyed hunting and working and restoring old tractors and machinery, but his most treasured times were cookouts and picnics with his family and most recently eating Kwik Star fried chicken that Rodney would bring from Davenport.
Surviving to mourn his passing are 1 son: Rodney (Linda Reisdorf) Clark, Davenport, Iowa, 1 daughter: Rose Christine (Lynn) Hood, Bushnell, 5 grandchildren: Monica Burney, Rock Island, Danielle Clark, Hamilton, Patty Clark, Tampa, Florida, Justin (Jennifer) Hood, Bushnell, Doug (Danielle) Hood, Bushnell, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandson, one brother, Stanley (Paula) Clark of Plymouth, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Jamie Clark, 3 brothers, Gerald, Roger and Larry Clark and one sister, Nadine Hoing.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL with Rev. Dan Ormond officiating .Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Colmar, Illinois. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s cemetery or Colchester Senior Center.
