Raymond Foster

 Charles Raymond Foster, 93, of Golden, IL, died at 10:18 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Golden Good Shepherd Home.

 Born May 13, 1931, in Rockport, IL, Raymond was the son of Charles and Velma Blackledge Foster. He married Marie Gerdes on June 27, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, IL. She survives.

 Raymond served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from 1952 until 1954.

 Mr. Foster owned and operated Foster Construction and enjoyed restoring, showing, and driving his Model T car and truck. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. 

 Survivors in addition to his wife are his children, Mike Foster, Burlington, IA, Tom Foster, Quincy, IL, Cyndi Kimble, Golden, and Mark Foster, Golden; seven grandchildren, Sam Foster, Luke Dittmer (Anne), Sarah Dittmer, Michelle Loewe (Aaron), Melissa Foster, Greg Foster (Brittney), and Kayla Benali; nine great-grandchildren, Payton (Kaleb), Katie, Hannah, Ava, Paige, Elizabeth, Adam, Remi, and Massie; his brother, Herb Foster, Quincy; his sister, Milda Henry, Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, two sisters, Barb Garner and Shirley Mooney (Sharon "Jiggs"); three sisters in law, Barb Post (Jerry), Norma Schuster (Bill), and Ruthie Foster; and two brothers in law, Ed Gerdes (Lillian), and Jim Henry.

 Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. Burial will follow at Golden Memorial Gardens.

 Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden.

 Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Golden Good Shepherd Home.
