Phyllis Miller Brueggeman, 92, of Quincy, IL, formerly of Camp Point, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born June 26, 1932, in Joliet, IL, Phyllis was the daughter of Clement J. and Ruth S. Stewart Corcoran. Phyllis was married to Bill Miller on June 7, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1985. She then married Joe Brueggeman on February 2, 1991. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2007.
Phyllis worked for Dr. Adrian in Clayton, IL, for over 27 years before retiring in 1992. She was an active member of the Camp Point United Methodist Church, the Adult Sunday School class, United Methodist Women, the sewing club, and numerous card groups for over 65 years. She was a longtime member of Arrowhead Heights Golf Course in Camp Point where she enjoyed playing in ladies league. In her free time, Phyllis loved quilting and attending and watching football games.
Surviving are her four children and two stepchildren: Nancy (Dean) Paben of Monroe City, MO; Paul (Pam) Miller of Chapin, IL; Mark (Gundi) Barton-Miller of Vienna, Austria; Jeff (RaeAnn) Miller of Gilbert, AZ; Doug (Bonnie) Brueggeman of Hull, IL; and Monica Huff of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Elizabeth Shireman, Nichole Archer, Ryan Miller, Alwin Miller, Alinda Eigner, Jordan Miller, Tanner Miller, Hunter Miller, Drew Brueggeman, Brian Huff, Jason Huff, Kevin Huff; as well as twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; two sisters, Betty Albsmeyer (Bill) and Margaret Larimore (Marvin); her son-in-law, Harold Huff; two sisters-in-law, Janet Ehrhardt and Mary Chase, and seven brothers-in-law, Bob, Francis, Luther, Otis, Don, Russell, and Herb Miller.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Camp Point United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Camp Point United Methodist Church, Chaddock, or the Jensen Foundation.
