Norma Gooding

Norma Jean Gooding, 74, of Plymouth, IL passed away Friday (January 7, 2022) at 3:35 p.m. in her home.

She was born on August 15, 1947 in Macomb, IL to Harold Eugene and Ina Druscilla Clark VanFleet. She married Dayne R. Gooding Jr. on October 24, 1964 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2003.

Norma attended Plymouth Schools. She had been employed at Methode Electronics in Carthage, IL and Suzy Q,s in Plymouth, IL. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Baptist Church. Norma loved working in her garden, attending yard sales and mowing yards.

She is survived by a son; Bobby (Andrea) Gooding of Plymouth, IL, a daughter Rhonda (Rick) Adcock of LaHarpe, IL, 4 grandchildren; Dustin ( Andrea) Duffy of Kempner, TX, Jennifer (Jayson) O’Neil Duffy of  Dunlap, IL, Gera (Austin) Ufkes of Carthage, IL and Olivia (Dylan) Meyer of Manhattan, KS, 7 great-grandchildren; Braylin and Kolt Duffy, Braxton Little, Ellie and Jack O’Neil, Dayne and Decker Ufkes, a brother, Steve (Salie) VanFleet of Plymouth, IL, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a special friend, Lyman Lambert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ina Clark VanFleet, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wanda and Dayne Gooding Sr. and a brother, Alan VanFleet.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday January 13, 2022 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta,IL with Pastor Earl Beal and Pastor Dylan Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St, Mary’s cemetery at rural Plymouth, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday January 12, 2022 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to MDH Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
