Lillian Gerdes

     Lillian Hilda Dorothy Gerdes, 91, of Wentzville, MO., (formerly of Golden and Liberty) died on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the home of her daughter.

     Born August 25, 1930, in Quincy, Lillian was the daughter of Arthur and Hilda Eilers Schlueter. She married Edward Jurgen Gerdes on November 6, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2006.

     Lillian attended area elementary schools and was a graduate of Golden High School. Music and books were a very important part of her life and she shared both with family and friends. Also, she and her husband enjoyed many years of recreational camping.

     She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lost Prairie in rural Camp Point where she felt it was a privilege to be one of the readers at service.

     Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Cranmer, Wentzville, MO.; her granddaughters, Kerrin Sullivan (Dustin), Eureka, MO., Rochelle Cranmer, Wentzville, MO, and Devonne Cranmer (Joey Domicello), Wentzville, MO.; her great-grandchildren, Braeden, Derek, Ardynn, Evelyn, Adalynn, and Wrenley; her sisters, Merlene Flesner, Liberty, IL., and Esther Carstens, Clayton; a sister in law, Norma Schuster, Golden; a sister in law and brother in law, Marie and Raymond Foster, Golden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Arthur Cranmer; brothers-in-law, William Schuster, Elliott Flesner, and Robert Carstens; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jerry Post.

     Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point. Burial will follow at Golden Memorial Gardens.

     Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.

     Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lost Prairie or the Clayton Library.
