Roppo was one of a kind. We had some great times together . . . . . like the Winstead, Conn. road trip & being stopped in Ohio by the state police for waving a white sock out the window, the party at Argyle State Park before I entered the Army in 1969 where John lead services by authority granted by the World Church and retrieving Mary A. from the Woodbine Theatre in Carthage when she passed out in the 6th row from the rear. Overheated, she was by Curly A., but John's explanation was: "the cat went blind in the middle of the show"! So many good times. Our motto: "not here for a long time, here for a good time"! So much laughter during our "glory years"! I will miss him greatly ! Thank you "Roppo" for being a part of my life.

Went to school with John from kindergarten through our Senior year at Carthage. In First Grade he told his Mom my name was Hollis Dean Martin. She couldn’t find our number in the phone book so I missed his birthday party lol.She called me Hollis Dean Martin the rest of her life! He also kept my wife supplied with his delicious tomatoes! We will both miss him. Rest In Peace John.

He was like a real life Forrest Gump. So much travel and so many stories. From the story about his childhood dog interrupting the Carthage parade for some one on one time with another dog. The Big Deck. Sunburned feet from his time at the beach.. He was a great guy and good friend and I'll miss him.
