Jim White

James (Jim) White, 76, passed away Saturday July 27, 2024 at Countryview Care Center in Macomb, IL. Jim was born December 1, 1947 to Forrest and Mildred Harris White at their farm near LaPrairie, IL. 

Growing up Jim attended Augusta High School in Augusta, IL where he was active in 4H, FFA, and Band. Upon graduation, Jim went in the Army serving in the Vietnam War. During his service, Jim earned the National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, 1 Overseas Bar, The Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Badge w/Rifle Bar (M-14 & M-16). After discharge, Jim returned to the Augusta area where he worked with his father in a cemetery mowing service for several years. Jim was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church and a member of the Augusta VFW. 

Jim is survived by his sister, Karen (Ed) Bartlett of Springfield, IL, his brother Robert (Judy) White of Versailles, KY, an uncle, Lawrence White of LaPrairie, IL and numerous nephews and nieces. Jim was preceded in death by his parents .

A visitation will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL on Tuesday July 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM with service starting at 1:45PM. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodlawn Cemetery Association.
