Jill L. Hapke, 85, of Golden Good Shepherd Home, formerly of Clayton, IL, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the home.
Born on November 23, 1939, in Quincy, IL, she was the daughter of Louis B. and Velma W. (Geers) Price. She married Vernon E. Hapke Jr. on February 3, 1978, in Camp Point, IL. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2009.
Jill was a 1957 graduate of Arlington High School in Arlington, MA, and attended Andover Institute in Nashua, NH. After relocating to the area, she attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL.
Throughout her career, Jill was employed at Wilson Hardware, Camp Point Seed Company, and Camp Point Elevator. She also worked as the bookkeeper for Hapke Farms in Clayton. Jill was known for her creativity, enjoying quilting and reading in her spare time.
Survivors include her daughters, Barb Wietholder of Camp Point and Andrea Hapke (Kory Tobias) of Clayton; two grandsons, John Wietholder (Trisha) of Columbia, MO, and Jake Wietholder (Ellie) of Davenport, IA; and four great grandchildren, Lucas, Ellie, Bryson, and Blair Wietholder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother, John J. Price.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home, with Rev. Sheri Renner officiating. Burial will follow at Howe Cemetery near Clayton.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services on Sunday at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Bound Waggin or Golden Good Shepherd Home.
