Jean Schweda

Elizabeth Jean Schweda, 85, of Quincy, Il., passed away at Golden Good Shepherd Home on April 11, 2022, following a brief illness.  Jean is survived by her brother Bill Plank (Suzy), her beloved son, Christopher (Christine), and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald.

Born in Chicago on January 2, 1937, Jean came to Quincy in the late 60s with her husband, Don , who was part of the English Department at Quincy University. Jean loved to cook and bake for others. She adored reading, travelling with Don, drinking good coffee, and having dinner parties with friends. Jean was an active member of the Unitarian Church of Quincy.

Jean requested no services be held. Though Jean was a private person, she was an important part of her family and her community. Her loss is deeply felt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Quincy Public Library.
