James Gilbert Henninger

     James Gilbert Henninger, 84, of Liberty, died at 8:12 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
     Born October 26, 1938, in Stanley, KY., Gilbert was a son of Anthony and Pauline Wethington Henninger. He married Alice L. Rigg on November 25, 1961, in Mt. Sterling. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2001.
     Mr. Henninger was employed as a truck driver for National By-Products. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and served on the board of directors for the Mississippi Valley Hunting and Fishing Club, where he was a member for over 50 years.
     Survivors include three sons, John Henninger (Laura), Liberty, Joseph Henninger, Liberty, and Bill Henninger (Jane), Quincy; six grandchildren, Shawn, Michelle, Brittany, Alice, Kory, and Jonathan;  six great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jakobi, Hank, Oliver, Alana, and Amara; seven siblings, Pat Archuleta (Art), Reno, NV, Mary Ann Clark, Galesburg, IL., Laura Follis, Peoria, IL., Janet Houston (Tim), E. Peoria, IL., Bob Henninger (Chris), Chambersburg, IL., Loretta Henninger-Vila (Luis), Lynwood, WA., and Bernie Earhart, Tonasket, WA.; a brother in law, Bill Versluys; his companion, Sharon Meyers, Versailles, IL.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Jimmy Henninger; and five siblings, Paul Henninger, Lois Henninger, Billy Henninger in infancy, Toni Versluys, and Joseph Henninger.
     Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point. Burial will follow at Nations Cemetery, Liberty, Illinois.
     Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
