Glenn F. "Chub" Heins, 82, of rural Camp Point, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at his home.
Born March 30, 1942, in Quincy, IL, Chub was the son of Harold and Reva Evans Heins. He married Marilyn K. Thompson on April 24, 1974, in Seymour, IL. She preceded him in death on November 14, 2020.
Chub was a lifelong member of the Columbus United Methodist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard. Chub farmed with his father and brothers until the 1980s. He then worked as a truck driver for numerous local businesses and was currently employed at Helena Chemical in Camp Point.
In his free time, Chub enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. You could also find him working around the farm on his beloved John Deere 4010.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer Boling (Cliff), Coatsburg, and Jeff Heins (Amy), Camp Point; his grandchildren, Reece Boling (fiance' Cortney Powell), Quincy, Jackson Boling, Ft. Meade, MD, and Zane Boling, Coatsburg, Elly Higley (fiance' Ethan Griffith), Bella and Garryson Higley, Kenneth Roy Wayde Heins, Marailla Heins, and twins Maggy and Abby Heins, all of Camp Point; his great-grandchildren, Myles James Boling, and Colton Griffith; his brothers, Melvin Heins (Barb), LaBelle, MO, and Gene Heins (Marilyn), Pittsfield, IL; his sister, Julie Damon (Tom), Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Evan Heins; and his sister, Carol Haine.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Columbus United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
