Gary Melvin

Gary Lane Melvin, 75, of Augusta, IL died at 3:33 pm Thursday December 17, 2020 near Colchester, IL as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born on April 1, 1945 in San Diego, CA the son of Floyd and Doris McGinnis Melvin. He married Kay Cameron on June 24, 1995 in the Huntsville Methodist Church. She survives.

Gary operated Gary’s service station in Augusta in his earlier years and later was a truck driver.

He was a member of the former Huntsville Methodist Church. Gary served his country in the United States Navy.

He is survives by a son, a sister, June Sizek of Table Grove, IL, a niece and nephew and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Harold Sizek.

Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday December 21, 2020 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL by Rev. Matt Haberman. Inurnment will be held later at Huntsville cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his family to help with expenses.
