Beverly K McDermand

 Beverly Kay McDermand, 83, of Quincy, IL, (formerly of Camp Point, IL and Bradford, IL) passed away at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at her home in Quincy.

 Born November 28, 1940, in Kewanee, IL, Beverly was the daughter of Roland and Hazel Jean Oakes Walker. She married Paul McDermand on December 10, 1966, in Kewanee, IL. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2010.

 Beverly was employed as a certified nurses assistant for the Kewanee Health Department where she received an award for "Caregiver of the Year". In her free time, she and her husband enjoyed woodworking. She also loved crocheting and cherished time she spent with her family. 

 Surviving is her son, Richard P. Faris, Wisconsin; two daughters, Mary Leezer, Quincy, and Terri Sterling (Albert), Gilbert, AZ.; eight grandchildren, Paul Faris, David Manning, Matthew Manning, Brandi Mowen (Chuck), Ashley Rittenhouse (Mike), Seth Leezer (Andrea), Katrina Sterling Huestis (Chadd), and Joshua Sterling (Virginia); and 17 great-grandchildren, Peyton Manning, Alexis Rittenhouse, McKinley Rittenhouse, Tucker Rittenhouse, Mikayla Sterling, Jordan Sterling, Laura Faris, Skylar Faris, Aiden Faris, Jaxon Faris, Dylan Mowen, Lance Mowen, Madilynn Sterling Yslas, Jexton Manning, Maci Manning, Job Leezer, and Haven Leezer.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Teresa McDermand; and a great grandson, Blayne Mowen.

 Cremation has been accorded to Mrs. McDermand. Private family inurnment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Kewanee, IL at a later date.

 Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the American Heart Association in care of Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home, PO Box 255, Camp Point, Illinois.
