Arthur D. “Art” Derry, 80, of Augusta, IL passed away unexpectedly at 10:01 pm

Thursday March 27, 2025 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born on October 20, 1944 in Brooklyn, IL to Ivan D. and Ina Campbell Derry. He was united in marriage to Mildred A. “Millie” DeWitt on December 3, 1966 in Camden, IL. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2023.

Art attended Brooklyn, IL schools. He was employed as a Supervisor at NTN Bower Roller Bearing in Macomb, IL for many years. He was a member of the Black Oak Church in Beardstown, IL and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Art loved playing music and cherished the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by 2 sons; Bill (Madeline) Derry of Plymouth, IL, Chad Derry of Augusta, IL, a daughter, Mary Jo (Larry) Maloney of Plymouth, IL, 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a brother, Carl (Wanda) Derry of Goldsboro, NC and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Derry of Louisburg, NC.

He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday April 1, 2025 at the Brooklyn cemetery in Brooklyn, IL with Rev. Vicki Hull officiating. There will be no visitation but friends and family are welcome to attend the Graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brooklyn cemetery.

The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.
