Arlene Clayton, 85, of Plymouth, IL died at 6:45 am Thursday January 19, 2023 at the Elms in Macomb, IL.
She was born on September 15, 1937 in Bushnell, IL to Irvin and Sadie Wilson Stoneking. She was united in marriage to William Charles “Bill” Clayton on October 13, 1961 in Eureka, IL. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2008.
Arlene was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Carthage High School and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. She was a member of the Colmar Christian Church. Arlene never met a stranger and loved to visit with with her family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Blaine (Barbara) Clayton of Colmar, IL, a daughter, Michelle (Clint) Harman of Plymouth, IL, 2 grandchildren, Kieffer Harman of Carthage, IL, Kory (Ali Markley) of Blandinsville, IL, a great-grandson, Gideon Harman of Blandinsville, IL, a sister, Darlene Oyer of Macomb, IL, 2 brothers, Robert Stoneking of Gurnee, IL and Larry (Jan) Stoneking of Crest Hill, IL, a brother-in-law, Tom Clayton of Plymouth, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, 3 brothers, Gene, Kenneth and Michael Stoneking and a brother-in-law, Marvin Oyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday January 28, 2023 at the Colmar Christian Church in Colmar, IL by Rev. Dan Ormond. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Scott’s cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Elms Nursing Home or Scotts cemetery.
The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta is handling arrangements.
